🎄✨ Helping Hands Christmas Teddy Project 🎁🧸
We are thrilled to share the heartwarming journey of our “Helping Hands Christmas Teddy Project”! Coordinated by the amazing Beverley van Rhyn, this initiative brings together a talented group of ladies: Francis Smith, Jean McLean, Andriette Redelingshuys, Ronel Moses, and Wilna Hanekom. Together, they have united their passion for knitting to create something truly special for underprivileged children.
In September 2025, this dedicated team set a goal to knit 60 delightful Christmas teddies, aiming for completion by December. The enthusiasm in the group is infectious! Each member has played a vital role in preparing these adorable teddies— from gathering materials and stuffing them to sewing on their sweet little faces.
Beverley lovingly dubbed them “The Five Fine Friends,” highlighting the bond they’ve formed through this collaborative effort. Their excitement to partner with EJ Helping Hands showcases their commitment to making a difference in the community.
Despite facing individual challenges, these incredible women find solace and comfort in knitting. It not only offers them a creative outlet but also brings immense satisfaction from knowing they are helping those in need. As we witness knitting and crocheting becoming less common skills, it’s essential that we inspire younger generations to learn these beautiful crafts, allowing for even more handmade treasures to be created.
We were honored in supporting this wonderful project and spreading joy this holiday season! Sarah Pedro and her team distributed these unique teddies to the kids in the Leonsdale, Elsies River area❤️🧣
