Hope Delivered: 76,565 Children Matched for 2025… Only a Little Short of 80,000!

The Santa Shoebox Project has confirmed that 76,565 children have been matched with boxes for 2025, just shy of this year’s target of 80,000.

That figure represents thousands of South Africans choosing to show up for children they may never meet, but whose names they selected with every good intention and care. It’s a testament to the spirit of community and compassion that unites us all, reminding us that even small acts of kindness can have a profound impact.

It represents volunteers, donors, workplaces, families, schools, and strangers who all carry the same hope that every child should feel seen and loved. Together, we are creating a tapestry of support that weaves through our nation, ensuring that no child feels alone or forgotten during this festive season.

Each shoebox contains the eight essentials: a toothbrush, toothpaste, a bar of soap, a washcloth, an outfit, educational supplies, sweets, and a toy. And importantly, the magic of knowing someone thought of you by name. These items may seem simple to some, but for many children, they represent a world of difference. They symbolize care and connection in their lives.

For many recipients, these items are not guaranteed in their daily lives. Receiving them in a decorated box, wrapped in love and care, means even more. It transforms an ordinary gift into an extraordinary gesture of love and hope.

While this year’s pledges haven’t quite reached 80,000, hitting 76,565 boxes pledged is still an extraordinary achievement in a year where need continues to grow. This milestone showcases the dedication and generosity of our communities coming together for a common cause.

Whether you pledged one box, ten boxes, or shared the campaign with someone who could, you’ve helped move the world closer to a festive season where more children feel valued. Your participation matters deeply!

76,565 smiles are already on their way! 🎁❤️
